Cosmic Void
Immersive Environment & Scenic Design
Project Overview
Cosmic Void represents the genesis of my immersive design practice. Serving as a foundational "proof of concept," this initial installation sparked a deep passion for prop fabrication, atmospheric manipulation, and world-building. Working within the strict constraints of a highly limited budget, a tight production timeline, and a compact domestic footprint, I focused on maximizing visual impact through strategic material and lighting choices. While intentionally lean in scope as a debut project, navigating these early limitations ultimately ignited my passion for scenic design and established the resourceful, collaborative foundation that allowed subsequent installations to scale exponentially.

Scenic Elements
Illuminated Flying Saucer Prop
A collaborative build featuring a low-profile silhouette integrated with remote-controlled LED lighting to project a vibrant ground-glow effect, anchoring the room’s ambient color palette.
Stylized Extraterrestrial Character Cutout
A life-size, hand-painted alien figure inspired by the "little green men" era of 1960s sci-fi comics. It is painted in a monochromatic style with deep contrast, designed to pop in high-key flash photographs.
Retro-Futuristic Biomorphic Wall Reliefs
Twelve hand-cut graphic silhouettes dispersed throughout the environment as repeating alien motifs, featuring a mix of matte black and silver surface treatments.
Integrated Mylar & Atmospheric Lighting Installation
The primary vehicle for environmental immersion. By pairing galaxy nebula projections with reflective Mylar sheeting, I broke up static ceiling planes and bounced shifting purple and magenta light dynamically across the room to simulate cosmic depth.
